What You'll Learn: - Leathercraft Basics (15 minutes) Introduction to different types of leather, their characteristics, and how to care for them Overview of essential leathercraft tools and their uses Safety guidelines for working with leather and tools - Cardholder Crafting (3.5 hours) Design & Template Use: Choose a 3 slot cardholder colour and transfer the pattern onto leather. Precision Cutting: Master knife control to cut leather neatly using a metal ruler. Edge Preparation: Bevel edges for smoothness and polish with sandpaper. Slot Creation: Use a tool to thin leather for seamless folding. Stitching Techniques: Punch stitching holes with pricking irons. Sew using saddle-stitching methods for durability. Burnishing: Finish edges with a wooden burnisher for a glossy, professional look. Foil Stamping (Optional): Add initials, patterns, or motifs with a hot stamping machine. Assembly & Final Touches: Attach snap buttons or magnetic closures (optional), and condition the leather.
